Crowley- A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held for Ida Bell Cormier Fontenot, 100, at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, March 7, 2017 in the Duhon Funeral Home-Crowley Chapel with Rev. Clint Trahan officiating. Visitation will begin at 8:00 AM on Tuesday morning in the funeral home chapel with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 11:00 AM and will continue until just prior to the time of service. Interment will follow the chapel service and will be in Abshire Cemetery in Kaplan, LA. Mrs. Fontenot passed away on Wednesday, March 1, 2017.
Mrs. Fontenot is survived by her children, James Laurence Fontenot of Vidor, TX, Amanda Judith Gautreaux and her husband, Ralph of Crowley, LA, Raymond Lee Fontenot of Kaplan, LA and John Warren Fontenot and his wife, Linda of Kaplan, LA; eight grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, James Burney Fontenot; son, Frank Joseph Fontenot; parents, Frank Cormier and Lucille LeBlanc Cormier; daughter-in-law, Genny Fontenot and one great- granddaughter, Paige Elizabeth Fontenot.
The family is requesting that in lieu of flowers donations be made to defer the funeral expenses to Raymond Fontenot or Linda Fontenot.
