Rayne- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Darrel J. Dugas, 61, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, August 19. 2017 at St Joseph Catholic Church In Rayne, LA with Rev. Kevin Bordelon as Celebrant. Visitation will begin at 11:00 AM on Friday, August 18, 2017 with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM; until 10:00PM and will resume on Saturday at 8:00 AM; with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 10:00 AM; until just prior to the time of service. Interment will follow the church service and will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery “New” in Rayne, LA. Mr. Dugas passed away on Thursday, August 17, 2017 at the Rayne Guest Home in Rayne, LA.
Mr. Dugas is survived by his sister, Joanne Dugas Stutes and her husband, John Nelson Stutes of Rayne, LA; nephews, Ricky Stutes, Paul Stutes and Jeffery Stutes; niece, Kathy Stutes Pilant, great nieces,Amanda Stutes, Meredith Stutes, Ava Stutes, Jennifer Pilant Hawkins, Sara Pilant Dean, Laura Pilant; great nephews, Miles Stutes and Aaron Stutes; great-great nephews, Elijah Wilson Stutes and Owen Pilant; great-great nieces, Abigal Pilant and Sophia Pilant.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Claby Jean Dugas and Renola Lavergne; brother, Eddie Dugas.
Pallbearers will be Paul Stutes, Jeffery Stutes, Aaron Stutes, Deacon Dennis LaCroix, Randy Bertrand and Phil Hebert.
