John Paul Batiste
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 11:00 A. M. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point for John “Paul” Batiste, 71, who passed away at his home in Church Point on Tuesday, August 23, 2017 at 10:30 A.M.
Rev. Emmanuel Awe, SSJ, Pastor of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church will be officiating for the service. Burial will be held in the Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church New Cemetery in Church Point.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services all in the Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday, September 2, 2017 at 10:30 A. M. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Pont.
Survivors include four sisters, Stella Batiste Morrison of Port Arthur, TX, Mary L. Batiste of Church Point, Elizabeth Batiste Cunningham of Church Point and Mathilda Batiste Boatman of Port Arthur, TX; one brother, John Floyd Batiste of Port Arthur, TX.
Mr. Batiste was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene and Gustava Chachere Batiste; one brother, Joseph William Batiste.
