Rayne- Funeral Services will be held for Ruth N. Bower, 69, at 2:00 PM on Sunday, October 1, 2017, in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel with Pastor Anthony Rice officiating. Visitation will begin on Sunday, October 1, 2017 at 9:00 AM, in the funeral home Chapel, until just prior to the time of the service. Interment will follow the chapel service and will be in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery in Mire, LA. Mrs. Bower passed away on Thursday, September 28, 2017.
Mrs. Bower is survived by her children, Bryan Bower and his wife, Dawn of Duson, LA, Celia Duhon and her husband, Dwayne of Scott, LA, Raelyn Istre and her husband, Thomas of Rayne, LA, Thomas Bower and his wife, Meredith of Broussard, LA; grandchildren, Dillon Duhon, Caitlin Duhon, Melaina Bower, Jason Breaux, Joseph Istre, Ruby Istre; great-grandchild, Dillon “D.J.” Duhon,Jr.; brothers, Horace Young, Eugene Nepveux and Mark Taylor.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Alphe Bower, Jr.; parents, Leander Nepveux, Sr. and Lorena Credeur Nepveux; sisters, Ruby Nepveux, Mary Alice Barker; brother, Leander Nepveux, Jr.
Pallbearers will be Bryan Bower, Thomas Bower, Thomas Istre, Dwayne Duhon, Dillon Duhon and Aaron Young. Honorary pallbearers, Eugene Nepveux, Horace Young and Mark Taylor.
