Obituary for
Verna Denais (Desormeaux)
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Verna Desormeaux Denais, 79, at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, October 10, 2017 at St. Basil Catholic Church in Judice, LA with Rev. Rex Broussard as Celebrant. Visitation will begin on Monday, October 9, 2017 in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel at 2:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM and will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 AM until just prior to the time of service. Interment will follow the church service and will be in St. Basil Catholic Cemetery in Judice, LA. Mrs. Denais passed away on Saturday, October 7, 2017 at her residence.
Mrs. Denais is survived by her children, Dave Allen Hebert and his wife, Tammy of Arnaudville, LA, Donald Wayne Hebert and his significant other, Carla LeBlanc of Maurepas, LA, Charlotte Quebedeaux and her husband, Nelson of Woodstock, GA, Danny Denais and his wife, Dana of Scott, LA, Chris Denais and his wife, Nina of Maurice, LA, Mona Dupuis and her husband Ethen “Poochie” Dupuis of Lafayette, LA and Dona Robertson and her husband Cliff of Lafayette, LA; thirteen grandchildren, thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great grandchild; one brother-in-law, Harris Lantier of Rayne, LA; sister-in-law, Rose Desormeaux of Bayou Vista, LA and her special companion Mr. Jesse Silvas.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Averse Denais; parents, Joseph and Alice Desormeaux; siblings, Eunice Domingue, Una Chaisson, Unez Richard, Lula Chaisson, Bernice Boudreaux, Antoine Desormeaux , Lily Mae Lantier, Susan Champagne and Francis Desormeaux.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Hebert, Chris Denais, Justin Denais, Eric Hebert, Cory Romero and Dylan Dupuis. Honorary pallbearers will be Dave Hebert, Danny Denais and Kevin Denais. Readings for the Mass will be done by Burley Joseph Pellerin and Giftbearers will be Hailey Romero and Abby Dupuis.
