Church Point- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Linton J. Brooks, 72, at 11:00 AM on Saturday, January 27, 2018 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point, LA with Rev. Emmanuel Awe, SSJ as Celebrant. Visitation will be held at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point, LA and will begin on Saturday at 8:00 AM and will continue until just prior to the service time. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 10:15 AM. Interment will follow the church service and will be in St. Edmund Catholic Cemetery in Branch, LA. Mr. Brooks passed away on Friday, January 19, 2018 at Acadia-St. Landry Hospital in Church Point, LA.
Mr. Brooks is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Alice Sam Brooks of Church Point, LA; children, Keisha Brooks Jones and her husband, Stuart Jones of Missouri City, TX, Michael Brooks of Humble, TX; grandchild, Jayden Jones of Missouri City, TX; siblings, Elrose Giles of Beaumont, TX, Leroy Brooks of Opelousas, LA, Mary Ann Green of Church Point, LA, Ethel Young of Scott, LA, Elvin Brooks of New Orleans, LA and Linda Brooks of Church Point, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Henry and Anna Brooks.
