Rayne- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for John “Church Point “ Nelson Guidry, 69, at 10:30 AM on Friday, March 9, 2018 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Rayne, LA with Rev. Richard Wagner as Celebrant. Visitation will be held in the Duhon Funeral Home, LLC-Rayne Chapel from 8:00 AM until just prior to departure for church. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be at 8:15 AM in the funeral home Chapel. Interment will follow the church service and will be in Holy Family Catholic Cemetery in Lawtell, LA. Mr. Guidry passed away suddenly at his residence in Rayne, LA on Saturday, March 3, 2017.
Mr. Guidry was employed for 18 plus years by the City of Rayne and will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Mr. Guidry is survived by his children, Michael D. Guidry (fiancee’, Julie) of Opelousas, LA, Shonte D. Guidry (fiance’, Anthony) of Lafayette, LA and Victor Thomas of Lake Charles, LA ;grandchildren, Raven Guidry, Michael Guidry, Jr., Jamarkus, Keavon, Keonte, Brittany Cunningham; great grandchildren, Madison, Kyree and Kayrin Cunningham; brothers, Joseph Guidry, Clinton Guidry both of Church Point, LA and Linton Guidry of Shreveport, LA; sisters, Mary Jane Gibson and Brenda Guidry both of Lake Charles, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Vorise Guidry and Elrose Shilow Guidry; brothers, Patrick Guidry and Ignatuis Guidry.
Pallbearers will be Michael Guidry, Jr., Keavon Cunningham, Patrick Guidry, Jr, Kendrice Guidry, Wallace Citizen and Skler Guidry.
Honorary pallbearers will be Michael Guidry, Victor Thomas, Clinton Guidry and Joseph Guidry.
