Duson- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Horris P. Stelly, 75, at 1:00 PM on Monday, March 19, 2018 at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson, LA with Rev. Aaron Melancon as Celebrant. Visitation will be held in the Duhon Funeral Home, LLC- Rayne Chapel on Sunday, March 18, 2018 from 1:00 PM until 10:00 PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM and will resume on Monday at 8:00 AM until just prior to departure for services at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Duson, LA. Interment will follow the church service and will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery “New” in Rayne, LA. Mr. Stelly passed away at his home in Duson, LA surrounded by his family at 8:45 AM on Saturday, March 17, 2018.
Mr. Stelly is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Gloria T. Stelly of Duson, LA; two sons, Gerald Stelly and his wife, Wendy of Duson, LA, Brent Stelly and his wife, Lynnette of Duson, LA; two daughters, Judy LaFleur of Duson, LA , Ena Leon and her husband, Chris of Dallas, GA; eight grandchildren, Geoffrey Stelly and his wife, Sabrina of Gaston, SC, Haley Shelton and her husband, Jared of Abbeville, LA, Brad LaFleur and his wife, Amanda of Fairhope, AL,Brian Stelly of Rayne, LA, Corey Leon and his wife, Maegan of Dallas, GA, Amy LaFleur of Duson, LA, Shelby Stelly and her companion, Jason Pearrow of North Little Rock, AR, Dustin Leon of Dallas, GA; nine great grandchildren, Hanna Stelly, Ryan Shelton, Sydnie Shelton, Brystol Leon, Jacob Leon, Kyle Shelton, Piper LaFleur, Wyatt Shelton and Silas Pearrow; two siblings, Wilbert Stelly and his wife, Mary Lou of Rayne, LA and Della Mae Alleman of Rayne, LA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, John Stelly and Annie Venable Stelly as well as two brothers, Gilford Stelly and Herman Stelly.
Pallbearers will be Gerald Stelly, Brent Stelly, Geoffrey Stelly, Brian Stelly, Brad LaFleur and Corey Leon. Honorary pallbearers are Chris Leon, Dustin Leon, Jacob Leon and Silas Pearrow.
