Obituary for
Andrew Joseph "A.J." Gonzales Jr.
Rayne- A Gathering of Remembrance and Visitation with family and friends will be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018 in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel for A. J. Gonzales, Jr. from 2:00 PM until 5:00 PM. Mr. Gonzales passed away at his home surrounded by his loved ones in Mire, LA on Monday, May 7. 2018.
A.J. enjoyed his job of many years as a Tankerman, spending time at sea; loved cooking and his best canine friend, Chin. He also enjoyed spending time with his family, grandkids and great-grandkids during cookouts and holidays, especially Thanksgiving Day as well as spending time in his “barnyard”. He will be truly missed by all who loved him.
Mr. Gonzales is survived by his loving wife of eleven years, Janelle H. Gonzales of Mire, LA; children, Jay Gonzales and his wife, Misty of Texas, Randal Gonzales and his wife, Charlotte of Alexandria, LA, Tammie Kwierant, Michael Morton, Kurt Leger and his wife, Greda of Lafayette, LA, Kay Steen and her husband, Bryan of Erath, LA, Angie Billings and her husband Aaron of Cameron, LA, Kim Daigrepont and her husband, Chester of Marksville, LA and Austin Kent Leger of Mire, LA. twenty six grandchildren; nineteen great –grandchildren; brother, Dennis Gesser of Texas, two sisters, Jeannie Houston of Lake Charles, LA, Ramona Lee and her husband, Bruce of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Andrew, Sr. and Hazel Gonzales; brothers, Shelton Breaux and Rubin Dugas as well as one grandson.
