A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard for Hermance L. Prather, 90, who passed away on Friday, June 29, 2018, at Eunice Manor Nursing Home in Eunice.
Fr. Wayne Duet, Pastor of St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in the St. Edward Catholic Church Cemetery in Richard.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, July 1, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. until 9:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Monday, July 2, 2018 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include her husband of seventy two years, Henry A. Prather of Richard; three sons, Pat and wife, Theresa Prather of Richard; Charles and wife, Yvette Prather of Church Point and Robert and wife, Debbie Prather of Eunice; one sister, Shirley Istre of Lake Charles; five grandchildren, Blaise and wife, Wendy Prather of Richard, Megan and husband, Blaise Treadway of Richard, Rachelle and husband, Tracy Babineaux of Eunice, Monique and husband, Don Harrington of Church Point and Michael and wife, Lisa Prather of Scott; two step granddaughters, Leigh Ann Vidrine of North Carolina and Lindsey Ortego of Richard; ten great-grandchildren and three great-great grandchildren.
Mrs. Prather was preceded in death by one grandson, Mitchell Prather; two great-grandsons, Brandon and Justin Rayon; her parents, Arnold and Amante A. Leger; seven brothers, Ernest, George, Levi, Kelly, Jim, Charles and Arnold Leger; and two sisters, Armide Sonnier and Joyce Leger and one infant girl.
Pallbearers for the service will be Pat, Charles, Robert, Blaise, Michael and Kentry Prather. Honorary Pallbearers for the service will be Chris, Kevin, Zachary Prather, Blaise Treadway, and Nicholas Babineaux.
