Church Point- A Liturgy of the Word Service will be held for Margaret Guidry, 44, at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 23, 2018 in the Duhon Funeral Home-Church Point Chapel. Visitation will be held on Sunday, July 22, 2018 beginning at 10:00 AM and will continue until just prior to the service time on Monday. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held on Sunday at 6:00 PM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow the chapel service and will be Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery “New” in Church Point, LA. Margaret passed away on Friday, July 20, 2018 at her residence on “Drama Drive” at “Camp Elizabeth” in Rayne, LA.
Margaret is survived by her daughter, Paige Guidry of Rayne, LA; son, Matthew Guidry and his wife, Taylor of Mire, LA; companion, Christopher “Peanut” Harvey of Rayne, LA; step-children, Justin Guidry and his wife, Becky of Moss Bluff, LA, Maegan Dykes and husband, Chris of Moss Bluff, LA, Jarred Guidry of Moss Bluff, LA, Johnathan Guidry of Rayne, LA, Amy Brossette and husband, Joshua of West Lake, LA, Katlyn Hanks of Crowley, LA, Tiara Harvey and companion, Dylan of Estherwood, LA, Darain Harvey of Crowley, LA, Makayla Harvey of Estherwood, LA, ten grandchildren; siblings, Melinda Thibodeaux of Crowley, LA, Vanessa Fontenot and her husband, Byron of Duson, Emily Bivens and her husband, Carl of Rayne, LA, Kevin Douga and Companion, Sherry Dugas of Arnaudville, LA, Andre’ Douga and companion, Annette Cormier of Rayne, LA, Tracy Douga and companion, Bradley Romero of Rayne, LA; two pets she loved dearly, Cope and Lucy and a host of nieces and nephews she love so much.
She was preceded in death by parents, Lionel and Laura Douga formerly of Church Point, LA; siblings, Denise Savoy formerly of Church Point, LA; brother-in-law, Michael Boudreaux formerly of Church Point, LA; paternal grandparents, Clementine Douga formerly of Church Point, LA and Easton Douga formerly of Church Point, LA; maternal grandparents, Andrew and Emily Hebert formerly of Lafayette, LA.
Pallbearers will be Andre’ Douga, Sam Cormier, Tim Cormier, Johnathan Guidry, Chad Douga and Christopher “Peanut” Harvey. Honorary pallbearers will be Mason Douga, Nickolas Shumpert , Matthew Guidry and Kevin Douga.
Margaret’s family would like to thank the entire staff of Grace Hospice, especially Nurse Lee for their care and compassion extended to Margaret and her family.
