Obituary for Walter Bryan Bourgeois
A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 3:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point for Walter Bryan Bourgeois, 73, who passed away on Tuesday, September 5, 2023 at 9:23 A.M. at his home in Youngsville.
Fr. Richard Vidrine will be officiating for the service. Burial will be held at a later date in the VA Cemetery in Jennings.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Saturday, September 16, 2023 at 11:00 A.M. until time of services all in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Eulogy will be held on Saturday, at 2:30 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point.
Multiple military honors will be presented beginning at 2 P.M. and final military honors and a presentation of the flag will follow the service.
Survivors include his companion, Glenda Hulin of Youngsville; two sons, Jason and wife, Andrea Bourgeois of Brooklyn, NY, Matthew and wife, Kelli Bourgeois of Portland, OR; one daughter, Melissa Bourgeois and husband, Joshua Spahr of Captain Cook, HI; the mother of his children, Marjorie Lois Bourgeois of Captain Cook, HI; three brothers, Terrel and wife, Judy Bourgeois of Wilmington, North Carolina; Peter and wife, Sewilla Bourgeois of Maurice, and Grady and Liz Bourgeois of Lafayette.
Mr. Bourgeois was preceded in death by his parents, Joseph Hardy and Mary Eola J. Bourgeois; three brothers, Carl, Mitchell, and infant, James Malcolm; one sister, Janice Murray.
Mr. Bourgeois served our Country in the United States Marine Corps. He was a combat veteran during the Vietnam War.
