Funeral services will be held Monday July 20, 2009 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church for Eunice L. Istre, 93, who died Friday at the Rayne Guest Home. Survivors include three sons, Alex and Adam Istre both of Rayne, and Raymond Istre of Kaplan; one daughter Cloma Griffin of Abbeville; 23 grandchildren; 44 great-grandchildren; and 11 great-great-grandchildren. Mrs. Istre was preceded in death by her husband Joe Istre; one son Eddie Istre; her parents Eraste and Adele Doucet Istre; two great-grandchildren and three brothers Arthur, Delmar, and Louie Leger; five sisters Corriene Sonnier, Mea Clement, Edna Sonnier, Euelia Trahan, and Winnie Leger. Burial will be in the St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery under the direction of Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne.
