Patsy M. Nowell, 54, died Tuesday, November 6, 2012 from heart failure in her Leander, TX home.

Patsy was born March 11, 1958 in Port Sulphur, LA to Wilson Romain and Marie Deshotel. She lived most of her life in southern Louisiana before moving to Texas in 2006.

Patsy's formal training as a Medical Assistant served her well as she spent most of her short life as a caretaker for family and friends, often putting the well-being of others ahead of her own. She truly was the matriarch of the family, serving as the glue to hold everyone together through both good times and bad. But even above family and friends, Patsy had no greater passion than that for her grandchildren. She looked forward to every major holiday so that she could be surrounded by the loves of her life.

Patsy is survived by her husband, Steve, her son Colby LeMaire, her daughter Kisa Lavergne, step-daughters Kesei Kelly and Katie Griffin, her sister Marlene Romain, and her brother Allen Romain. Patsy is also survived by her 7 wonderful grandchildren, Devin (16), Briana (8), Kami (8), Cameron (7), Hailey (6), Tyler (4), and Colin (3).

Funeral services will be handled by Duhon Funeral Home in Church Point, LA. Services will be held at 11:30 AM on Sunday, November 11, 2012.
