Church Point—A Mass of Christian Burial for Genora Lavergne Olivier, 63, of Church Point will be celebrated on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at 2:00 P.M. in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery #2.

Visitation will be held on Saturday, October 5, 2013 from 5:30 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in Duhon Funeral Home of Church Point, with a rosary being recited at 7:00 P.M. Visitation will continue on Sunday from 8:00 A.M. until 1:30 P.M. in the funeral home.

Mrs. Oliver passed away on Friday, October 4, 2013 at 1:10 P.M. in her Church Point residence.

A lifelong resident of Church Point, Mrs. Oliver was a faithful member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church. She was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. Mrs. Olivier worked for the Diocese of Lafayette for over ten years, and she was a very religious person and a wonderful friend to everyone. Her pastime was spent drinking coffee with friends and family, and spending time with her grandchildren.

Survivors include her son, Chad Oliver and wife, Stacy of Church Point; daughters, Monique Fontenot and Chad Miller of Church Point, Nicole Setze and husband, Jamie of Baton Rouge, and McKenzie Olivier of Church Point; sister, Cathy Jo LeJeune of Church Point; grandchildren, Olivia Fontenot, Will Fontenot, Kylan Olivier, and welcoming a baby girl in December; niece Tammy Guidry; nephew Reggie Lavergne and wife, Celeste; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Preceding Mrs. Olivier in death were her husband, Wilbur Olivier; parents, Vories and Vivian Labbe Lavergne; and brother, Gerald Lavergne.
