Obituary for
Shirley Ann Johnson (Fruge)
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, April 13, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Shirley Fruge Johnson, 75, who passed away on Thursday, April 9, 2015 at 7:40 p.m. at Senior Village Rehab and Retirement Center in Opelousas.
Very Rev. Msgr. Jeff DeBlanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in Bellevue Memorial Park Cemetery in Opelousas.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, April 12, 2015 from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. A Rosary will be recited Sunday at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8:00 a.m. until time of Services.
Survivors include three sons, Robert Keith and wife, Lisa Johnson of Burlington, KY., Earl Duane and Claudette Johnson of Opelousas, LA. and Allen Scott and wife, Linda Johnson of Phoenix, AZ.; one daughter, Nancie Denise and husband, Frank Welch of Madison, KS.; two brothers, Paul Hilman Fruge of Sunset and Jimmy and wife, Cathy Fruge of Lafayette; Ten grandchildren, Marcus, Paul, Patrick, Parker, Sarah and Sydni Johnson, Thomas and Bryan Guillory, Andrew and Amanda Lavergne; seven great-grandchildren. Also she was survived by a special niece and Godchild, Pam Marks.
Ms. Shirley was preceded in death by her parents, Felix and Constance Castille Fruge; four sisters, Mary Jane F. LeLeux, Georgia F. Salter, Theresa F. Lavergne and Marjorie F. Caswell.
