Mary Dorothy “Dot” Richard Jeanise
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 2:00 P.M. at the First Presbyterian Church in Crowley for Mary Dorothy “Dot” Richard Jeanise, 78, who passed away on Friday, December 18, 2015 at 12:25 A.M. at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
Rev. Jimmy Broussard, Pastor of the First Presbyterian Church in Crowley will be officiating for the services. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, December 20, 2015 at 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Visitation will resume on Monday, December 21, 2015 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Devoted Wife, loving mother, grandmother, mimi, great grandmother and great great grandmother. She was an amazing cook and loved to cook for her family and friends. The joy of her life was being surrounded by all her babies and she loved spoiling each and everyone. As her memory will live on in our hearts, her presence will be greatly missed by her loving family.
Survivors include her husband of fifty three years, Andrew Jeanise, Jr., Crowley; two daughters, Brenda and husband, Conley Thibodeaux, Mermentau Cove, and Michele and husband, Garret LeBlanc, Crowley; one son, Randy and wife, Lianie Thibodeaux, Brusly; one son-in-law, Butch Theriot, Church Point; one step-son, Andrew Jeanise III and wife, Shirley, Lake Charles; one step-daughter, Linda Jeanise McDonald, Sulphur; one brother, Wilman and wife, Isabelle Richard, Iowa; 23 Grandchildren; 45 Great Grandchildren with 1 on the way; 1 Great Great Granddaughter.
Preceded in death by daughter, Tina Marie Theriot; Mother, Alite Matte Richard; Father, Archangel Richard; Sister, Esola Richard Lejeune; Nephew, Bart Lejeune; Step-son, Bradley McDonald.
The family would like to thank Dr. Paul Stringfellow, his staff, and the staff of the Acadia General Hospital ICU for taking such great care of Dot. The family would also like to thank Lamm Home Health staff for all the years they have cared for her. Special thanks to her beautician, whom she regarded as a daughter, Millie McFadden. Sincere gratitude to her best friend Sherry Hernandez, who has stayed by her side over the years.
