Violet Harrington
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 11:00 A.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley for Violet H. Harrington, 99, who passed away at her home in Crowley on Thursday, October 19, 2017 at 4:10 P.M.
Deacon Byrne Winn, from St. John Berchman Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the Woodlawn Cemetery in Crowley.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, October 22, 2017 at 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary will be recited on Sunday at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. Visitation will resume on Monday, October 23, 2017 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Ms. Harrington was born on July 25, 1918. She was married to Ivy Harrington. Together they had 9 children. She decorated cakes at Ruddocks for 45 years. She always made sure everyone had eaten and no one left hungry.
Survivors include, three sons, Chester and wife, Wilma Harrington of Utah, Leon and wife, Mary Harrington of Crowley, Charles Harrington of Crowley; five daughters, Mary Touchette of Forth Worth, TX, Marella Nelson of TX, Dellean and husband, Kernes Schexnayder, Jr. of Crowley, Priscilla and husband, Bee Bee Louviere of Crowley, Kathy and husband, Floyd Mouton of Crowley; one brother, Ovelton, Jr. and wife, Pat Hargrave for Houston, TX. ; twenty grandchildren, fifty six great-grandchildren, and twenty three great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Harrington was preceded in death by her husband, Ivy Harrington; one daughter, Barbara Richard; three son-in-laws, Willie Touchette, Roland Richard and Richard Nelson; one grandson, Zachary “T-Boy” Schexnayder.
