Obituary for
Thomas Dean Venable
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at 2:00 P.M. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Thomas Dean Venable, 66, who passed away on April 8, 2018 at 6:10 A.M. at the St. Joseph Carpenter House in Lafayette.
Burial will be held in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Old Cemetery in Church Point.
The family has requested the visitation to be held Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Tuesday at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife, Sara B. Venable of Richard; one daughter, Desi “Doobie” Crawford of Tacoma, WA; his mother, Lena Venable of Rayne; two sisters, Vicki and husband, Bobby Thibodeaux of Abbeville, Nina and husband, Tim Melancon of Lafayette; one brother, Wayne and wife, Pat Venable of Denham Springs; his Godchildren, Jill Citizen of Lafayette, Israel Thibodeaux of Abbeville, Chris “Pokey” Venable of Watson and Elizabeth Burruss of Eunice.
Dean was preceded in death by his father, Blanc Venable; his paternal and maternal grandparents.
