Obituary for
Bertha Romero (Dupuis)
Rayne- A Liturgy of the Word Service will be celebrated for Bertha D. Romero, 67, at 2:30 PM on Tuesday, April 17, 2018 in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel with Deacon Tommy Adams officiating. Visitation will begin in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel on Monday, April 16, 2018 at 5:00 PM until 10:00 PM with a Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 6:00 PM and will resume at 8:00 AM on Tuesday until just prior to the service time. Interment will follow the chapel service and will be in St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery “New” in Rayne, LA. Mrs. Romero passed away on Sunday, April 15, 2018 at Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette, LA.
Mrs. Romero is survived by her loving husband of 52 years, James J. Romero of Rayne, LA; children, Debbie R. Melancon and her husband, Quentin of Rayne, LA, Otis J. Romero and his wife, Connie of Rayne, LA, Kenneth J. Romero and wife, Carolyn “Pepe” of Duson, LA, Bradley J. Romero and his companion, Tracey of Rayne, LA, Conrad J. Romero and his companion, Charlene of Duson, LA; thirteen grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Rodney Dupuis of Mire, LA and one sister, Mary Lane Lavergne and her husband, Junior of Mire, LA.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Alton Dupuis and Eva Marie Dugas Dupuis and one brother, Elton Dupuis.
Pallbearers will be Josh Pellissier, Cody Robinson, Barrit Romero, Trey Romero, Cory Romero and Branden Romero. Honorary pallbearer will be Quentin Melancon.
