A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, May 10, 2018 at 1:00 P.M. at St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton for Tilman Paul Babineaux, Jr., 45, who passed away on Monday, May 7, 2018 at 9:29 A.M. at his home in Lafayette.
Very Rev. Msgr. Russell Harrington, Pastor of St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the St. John Berchman Catholic Church Cemetery in Cankton.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Wednesday, May 9, 2018, at 12:00 P.M. until time of services on Thursday in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Wednesday at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point.
He was a native of Cankton, La., resided in Lafayette, La. He was employed for many years as a certified Direct Service worker, and was very dedicated to working with his clients, whom had special needs, until his time of illness in 2016.
He was a member of the Mardi Gras Krewe, Royal Order of Unicorn, since 2003, and also enjoyed being a Female illusionist, known well, as Shelby Stevens.
Tilman is survived by, his partner of fourteen years, Randy Istre of New Iberia; his mother, Christine Guidry Putnal and her husband, Edward Putnal, Jr. of Lafayette; one sister, Katina Marie Babineaux of Cankton; one brother, Denis Girouard, III. and his wife, Rachel Green Girouard of Carencro; one step sister, Amy Putnal of Florida; three step brothers, Edward Putnal IV. of Lake Charles, Allen James Guidry of Bossier City and Troy Eddie Guidry of Sunset; a step mother, Carol ann Smith Babineaux of Sunset; one niece, Kourbon Rose Girouard of Carencro; one furry friend, Tooky; family of Randy, Monica Chatagnier of Alabama, Regina Christian of New Iberia, Wanda Lamp of Alabama and Christina Istre of Franklin; Murphy and Irene Istre of New Iberia.
Tilman was preceded in death by his grandparents, Willis Guidry, Roberta Guilbeau Guidry, Johnny Huse Babineaux, Bessie Jane Lormand Babineaux; his father, Tilman P. Babineaux, Sr. all of Cankton; one step brother, Johnathon Keith Smith of Provencal, La.; his furry friends, Precious and BaBa.
Pallbearers for the services will be, Randal James LeMaire, Daren Sylvester, Troy Mannino; Clyde C. Schroeder, Luis O. Marimon and Denis Felix Girouard, III, Cody James Boudreaux, and Troy Eddie Guidry. Honorary Pallbears for the services will be Randy Istre, Edward Putnal, Jr.
