On Wednesday, June 27, 2018, the gates of heaven opened and the angels of God descended to Lafayette, LA to carry Brenda Marie Harmon to her final resting place.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:30 AM on Saturday, July 7, 2018 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Rayne, LA with Rev. Richard Wagner as Celebrant. Visitation will be held in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel on Saturday from 8:00 AM until 9:45 AM followed by final viewing and departure for the church service. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 8:00 AM on Saturday in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow the church service and will be in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Cemetery in Rayne, LA.
Brenda was born on June 24, 1959 in Lafayette, LA to the late Wilton Harmon, Sr. and Lillie
Harmon. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and daughter also a caring sister, aunt, cousin and friend to everyone who knew her. She loves to travel and enjoy life to the fullest. Brenda never met a stranger and will forever be remembered by making sure her chosen words (lol) and
laughter will be remembered by all who had the pleasure of enjoying her company.
She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons, Robert Harmon (Francheska) and Jasha Harmon (Jyrial) of Rayne, LA; twelve grandchildren, Keegan Harmon, Jaylan Harmon, Payton Harmon, Jayla Harmon, Hebert Dugas, Imani Dugas, Brylon Randall and Jaslynn Babineaux all of Rayne, LA, Jai’von Francis and Jai’ya Harmon of Crowley, LA, Jashyra Savoy and Jylan Landry of Church Point, LA; mother, Lillie Harmon of Rayne, LA; two sisters, Linda Harmon (Ronald) and Rebecca Harmon of Rayne, LA; seven brothers, James Harmon (Carol) of Baltimore, Maryland, Wilton Harmon of Church Point, LA, Girard Harmon (Damika) of Lake Charles, LA, Troy Harmon (Latoya) of Crowley, LA, Ricky Harmon of Houston, TX, Marlon Harmon (Karen) and Blane Harmon of Rayne, LA; a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.
Brenda was preceded in death by her father, Wilton Harmon, Sr.; two brothers, Ernest and Jacob Harmon as well as numerous other relatives.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Kelley, John Veazie, Roderick Batiste, Tyler Harmon, Troy Harmon, Jr., Jaquincy Smith, Johnathon Leopaul and Alex Harmon.
