Lena B. Venable (Briscoe)
Church Point- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Lena B. Venable, 84, at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, July 24, 2018 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point, LA. Visitation will be held at Duhon Funeral Home-Church Point Chapel on Monday, July 23, 2018 from 5:00 PM until 9:00 PM with the Recitation of the Holy Rosary at 7:00 PM and will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 AM until 12:30 PM. Interment will follow the church service and will be in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Cemetery “Old” in Church Point, LA. Mrs. Venable passed away on Saturday, July 21, 2018.
Mrs. Venable is survived by her children, Albert Wayne Venable and his wife, Pat of Denham Springs, LA. Vicki Thibodeaux and her husband, Bobby of Abbeville, LA and Nina Melancon and her husband, Tim of Lafayette, LA; grandchildren, Steve, Chris and Jeremy Venable all of Denham Springs, Israel Thibodeaux of Abbeville, LA, Charity Whitman of Reno, NV, Dane Thibodeaux of Baltimore, MD, Sage Thibodeaux of Maurice, LA, Liberty Peltier of Abbeville, LA, Desi Crawford of Tacoma, WA, Timi Wadleigh of Lafayette, LA and Ty Melancon of Lafayette, LA; numerous great-grandchildren; sister, Patsy Landry of Church Point, LA and one daughter-in-law, Sara Venable of Richard, LA.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Emery Venable; parents, Thomas and Evangeline Briscoe and two sons, Thomas Dean Venable and Keith Gerard Venable.
Pallbearers will be Steve, Chris and Jeremy Venable, Israel Thibodeaux, Ty Melancon and Wayne Venable. Honorable pallbearer will be Dane Thibodeaux.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 in Mrs. Venable’s memory.
