Rayne- Funeral Services will be held for Barbara A. Girard, 72. at 1:00 PM on Friday, September 21, 2018 in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel with Rev. Berl Adams officiating. Visitation will begin in the chapel on Friday, September 21, 2018 at 9:00 AM until just prior to the service time. Interment will follow the chapel service and will be in St. Edmund Catholic Cemetery in Branch, LA. Mrs. Girard passed away on Wednesday, September 19, 2018 at her home in Branch, LA.
Mrs. Girard is survived by her children, Susan Menard of Branch, LA, Vicky Breaux and her husband, Tyson of Cankton, LA and Jackie Vincent and her husband, Richard of Indian Bayou, LA; son, Victor Broussard and his companion, Debra Richard of Mire, LA; ten grandchildren; nineteen great-grandchildren ; two great-great grandsons; sisters, Bertha Denais and husband, Redly, Birdie Touchet; brothers, M. B. Charles Alleman and his wife, Linda, Jessie Alleman and his wife, May and one brother-in-law, Johnny Brasseaux.
She was preceded in death by her grand son-in-law, Jammie Degeyter; son-in-law, Jimmy Menard, Sr.; husband, Charles Girard; parents, Bernard and Mable Alleman; sister, Eldean Brasseaux and one brother-in-law, Lennis Touchet.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy “Jay” Menard, Jr., Mason Winn Menard, Eric Broussard, Terry Broussard, Tyson Breaux and Michael Comb.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Bryce Arabie, Lane Menard , Victor Broussard, and Daniel Hebert.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting that donations be made to assist in the funeral expenses.
