Rayne- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for Gerlis M. Pellerin, 82, at 1:00 PM on Saturday, November24, 2018 at Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Church in Mire, LA with Rev. Brent Smith as Celebrant. Visitation will begin in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel on Friday, November 23, 2018 at 2:00 PM and will continue until just prior to the time of service on Saturday. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held at 7:00PM on Friday November 23, 2018 in the funeral home chapel. Interment will be in Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Catholic Cemetery following the church service. Mrs. Pellerin passed away on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at her residence in Rayne, LA.
Mrs. Pellerin is survived by her children, James Bert Comeaux and his wife, Terry Lynn of Duson, LA, Patricia Ann Cormier of Church Point, LA, Cynthia Marie Galley of Rayne, LA, Linda Sue Credeur and her husband, Roy J. Credeur, Sr of Rayne, LA, Joseph Norbert Comeaux of Lake Charles, LA, Donald Ray Comeaux and his wife, Hope of Morse, LA; seventeen grandchildren; thirty two great-granchildren; one great-great grandchild; sisters, Laurence Constantine of Lafayette, LA , Mary Sonnier of Duson, LA and one brother, Lee Meche of Rayne, LA.
She was preceded in death by her companion of 16 years, Evans “Black” Daigle; parents, Norbert Meche and Clementine Meche; sisters, Gladys Venable, Rosa Bella Meche and Ancy Mae Broussard; brothers Roosevelt Meche, Emar Meche and Ewell Meche as well as six great grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons.
