Funeral Services will be held on Monday, December 24, 2018 at 10:00 A.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point for Elrin “Bill” Fuselier, 90, who passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2018 at Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette at 1:05 A.M.
Msgr. Jeff DeBlanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Deacon Ron Chauvin, from St. Elizabeth Seton Catholic Church will be reciting the Rosary. Burial will be held in St. Ann’s Catholic Church New Cemetery in Mamou.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday at 2:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited at 6 o’clock in the evening on Sunday in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife of sixty eight years, Lorine LeBouef Fuselier of Branch; one son, Roderick Fuselier of Opelousas; one daughter, Janet Boudreaux of Lafayette; one sister, Burna Fuselier Manuel of Mamou; one daughter-in-law, Brenda Fuselier of Arnaudville; four grandchildren, Dana Marks, Jude Boudreaux, Jr., Bethany Fuselier and Tyler Fuselier; one great-granddaughter, Haylee.
Mr. Fuselier enjoyed spending time with his family, cooking, gardening, telling stories and telling good clean jokes. He enjoyed animals, even so much as he would look for birds when he awoke and say, “Good morning little birds”. In the last years of Mr. Bill’s life, he enjoyed eating oatmeal and chocolate cream pies.
Mr. Fuselier was preceded in death by one son, Kenneth Fuselier; his parents, Kennedy and Ledie B. Fuselier.
