Funeral Services will be held on Monday, March 18, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point for Goldie “Suekey Pecan Candy Lady” Guidry, 74, who passed away on Thursday, March 14, 2019 at 8:32 A.M. at her home surrounded by family in Church Point.
Pastor Berl Adams, Pastor of the First Baptist Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services. Burial will take place at a later day in the Our Mother of Mercy New Cemetery in Church Point.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services all in the Funeral Home Chapel.
Survivors include one son, Joseph and wife, Renee’ Guidry of Carencro; three daughters, Leasha Guidry of Church Point, Rachael and husband, Norman Savoy, Jr. of Church Point, Tanya and husband, Martin Charlotte of Church Point; two sisters, Mary C. Charlot of Church Point and Catherine Boudreaux of Houston, TX; one brother, Harry Carrier of Church Point; seven grandchildren, Joseph Guidry, Marvin LeDay, Jr., Jacolby Guidry, Josiah Guidry, Tralon LeDay, Jamari Savoy, and Kaitlyn Savoy; one great-grandson, Jae’vin Francis; one very special niece/like daughter, Bernita “BeBe” Williams for all the special care and love that she gave till the end.
The family wishes to send a heartfelt thank you to Heart of Hospice, Lafayette General Hospital and St. Landry Home Care.
Ms. Guidry was preceded in death by her parents, Aaron and Edolia B. Carrier; three sisters, Martha Charlot, Edolia James, and Maxzina Bellard; four brothers, Roaul Carrier, Pierre Minix, Gervis Pete, Bud, and Percy Pete.
