Obituary for Mary Viola Savoie (Daigle)
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 25, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Mary Viola Savoie, 91, who passed away at her home in Church Point surrounded by family at 2:15 P.M. on Thursday, March 21, 2019.
Msgr. Jeff DeBlanc, Pastor of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Cemetery.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, March 24, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel. A Rosary will be recited Sunday at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Monday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include four sons, Ronald and wife, Sandy Savoie of Church Point, Danny Savoie of Church Point, Richard Savoie of Church Point and Michael and wife, Karen Savoie of Nederland, TX; one daughter, Linda and husband, Vince Fertitta; one brother, Leander Daigle of Church Point; fourteen grandchildren, twenty one great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Savoie was preceded in death by her husband, Lovrie Savoie; one son, James Lovrie Savoie; her parents, Alus and Elena C. Daigle; two brothers, LeRoy and John Daigle; three sisters, Eleda Comeaux, Leola Ledoux and one infant sister.
