Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Broussard’s Funeral Home in Kountze, TX for David “Coonie” Arabie, 53 who passed away on Saturday, March 30, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at his home in Lafayette surrounded by his family.
Aaron Hatcher and John French, Jr. will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Jordan Cemetery in Honey Island, TX.
The family has requested the visitation Tuesday, April 2, 2019 at 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P. M. at Broussard’s Funeral Home in Kountze, TX. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
David “Coonie” worked offshore as a crane operator for over 20 years. On his days off he enjoyed spending time with his family. He enjoyed hunting with his son and grandson whenever he got the chance. His love for LSU Tigers was a trademark he wore with pride. You would rarely see him not dressed in purple and gold.
He is survived by his wife, Misty Hatcher Arabie of Lafayette, LA; one son, Dustin Arabie and wife, Mandy of Pine Prairie, LA; one daughter, Marissa Arabie of Lafayette, LA; two grandchildren, Sylus and Hannah Arabie of Pine Prairie, LA; two brothers, Ronald and wife, Lisa Arabie of Honey Island, TX, John Arabie and Sarah Tharp of Honey Island, TX.
Mr. Arabie was preceded in death by his parents, Nolton and Jeanette Arabie; one brother, Nolton Arabie, Jr.; one sister, Katherine Elaine Cooley; his paternal grandparents, Lawrence and Rena Arabie; his maternal grandparents, Everett and Mildred Day.
Broussard’s Funeral Home of Kountze, TX will be in charge of the arrangements in Texas.
