Obituary for Johnny Sagona
Funeral Services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2019 at 10:00 A.M. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints in Opelousas for, Johnny Sagona, 90, who passed away on Thursday, May 16, 2019 at 7:08 P.M. at Lafayette General Orthopedic Hospital in Lafayette.
Bishop Kenneth Cochran, Bishop of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Arceneaux Cemetery in Rayne.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Sunday, May 19, at 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point.
Survivors include one son, Jimmy and wife, Lisa Sagona of Denham Springs; one daughter, Carolyn Shiver of Ville Platte; five grandchildren, James and wife, Virginia Shiver, John Ross Sagona, Alise and husband, Brian Williams, Tony Sagona and Brennan Johnson; five great-granddaughters, Sydney, Brianna, Ava and Kali Shiver, Riley Sagona; two step great-grandchildren, Anna and Nicholas Drago.
Mr. Sagona was preceded in death by his wife, Thelma Carolyn Sagona; one daughter, Tina Sagona; his parents, Joseph and Margherita Vutera Sagona; four brothers and five sisters.
