Rayne- A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated for John Lee Young, 74, at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 7, 2019 at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Rayne, LA with Rev. Richard Wagner as Celebrant. Visitation will begin in the Duhon Funeral Home-Rayne Chapel at 8:00 AM on Friday day until 10:00 AM. A Recitation of the Holy Rosary will be held shortly after 8:00 AM in the funeral home chapel. Interment will follow the Mass and will be in Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Cemetery. Mr. Young passed away on Sunday, May 26, 2019.
Mr. Young is survived by his loving wife of forty six years, Linda Young of Rayne, LA; two sons, Quincy Young of Houston, TX, Shannon Young and his wife, Raymanie of Rayne, LA; one daughter, Semika Young of Rayne, LA; three grandchildren, Niesha Domingue of Houston, TX, Taija Miller of New Iberia, LA, Tiesha Young of Rayne, LA; three great-grandchildren, Jermiah Domingue, King Domingue ; Alani Chanel Landry; three godchildren, Mae Ethel Young, Brian Carmouche and Shambertina Young.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis and Morjorie Young as well as two sisters, Mae Ethel Joseph and Morjorie Batiste; two nieces, Carol Batiste and Shirley Batiste and one great-niece, Morjorie Batiste.
Pallbearers will be Quincy Young, Shannon Young, Keefer Young, Sr., Marcus Carmouche, Willis Boudreaux and Conrad Brown.
