A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne for Wilfred Constantine, 94, who passed away at his home on Thursday, July 25, 2019 at 12:59 A.M. in Rayne.
Fr. Kevin Bordelon, Pastor of St. Joseph Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the St. Joseph Catholic Church New Mausoleum in Rayne.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 2:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne. A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 6 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife of fifty nine years, Eyola G. Constantine of Rayne; three sisters, Helen Saltzman of Carencro, Agnes Dupont of St. Martinville and Ida Hayes of Sulphur; several nieces and nephews.
Mr. Constantine was preceded in death by one son, Jody Costantine; his parents, Theophile, Jr. and Ella B. Constantine; two brothers, Dennis Broussard and Wilsie Constantine; one sister Eula Ogle.
Mr. Wilfred proudly served his Country for three years in the United States Navy during WWII. He was a decorated Veteran. He served on USS Pine Island AV-12 and was present at the signing of the unconditional surrender of the Japanese Forces.
In Lieu of flowers the family has requested donations made to any Parkinson’s Charity and Bridgeway Hospice.
