Obituary for Ashton Joseph Thibodeaux
Funeral Services will be held on Wednesday, December 18, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point for Ashton J. Thibodeaux, 80 who passed away on Sunday, December 15, 2019 at 5:15 P.M. at St. Martin Hospital in Breaux Bridge.
Deacon Jerry Wyble, from Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in St. Charles Catholic Church Cemetery in Grand Coteaux.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Tuesday, December 17, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited Tuesday at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Wednesday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife of sixty two years, Lois Thibodeaux of Sunset; two sons, Ricky Kevin and Randy Neal Thibodeaux both of Sunset; two brothers, Rodney Thibodeaux and companion Gail Schoffer of Sunset, Huey and wife, Betty Seaux Thibodeax of Lafayette; two sisters, Joyce and Nolan Menard of Lafayette, Ella Daigle Thibodeaux of Lafayette; five grandchildren, Travis Thibodeaux, Josh Lee, Amelia and husband, Shane Holt, Amanda Thibodeaux, Gary Micheal Thibodeaux and fiancé, Amy; five great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Zeringue, Ashton Zeringue and Avery Holt, Matthew Dodson, Caleb Thibodeaux.
Mr. Thibodeaux was preceded in death by one son, Gary Jude Thibodeaux; his parents, Jean Batiste and Enola L. Thibodeaux; one sister, Judithe Whittle; one brother-in-law, Gary Whittle.
Mr. Thibodeaux was a graduate in the Class of 1957 from Church Point High School. Mr. Thibodeaux retired from Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital as a Security Guard after working for twenty-three and a half years. He enjoyed being a country boy; he spent a lot of time with his farm animals as well as his tractors, and four wheelers.
