Obituary for Byron Christopher "Rooster" Meche
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 11:00 A.M. at Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point for Byron “Rooster” Meche, 42, who passed away on Saturday, December 14, 2019 at 8:00 P.M. at Slidell Memorial Hospital in Slidell.
Rev. Emmanuel Awe, SSJ, Pastor of Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church New Cemetery in Church Point.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Saturday, December 21, 2019 at 8:00 A.M. until time of services all in the Our Mother of Mercy Catholic Church. A Rosary will be recited on Saturday at 9 o’clock.
Survivors include his wife, Monica Citizen Meche of Lafayette; two sons, Cullen and Blaise Meche both of Lafayette; his parents, Elroy and Christine Meche of Church Point; one brother, Jason Meche and Christi Carmouche of Lafayette; his maternal grandparents, Wallace and Mary Duplechain of Church Point; one niece, Kinsley Meche; his Godmother, Dorothy Duplechain; his Godfather, Leroy Meche; his sisters-in-law, Mona Citizen of Church Point and Laura and husband, Dwight Malbrough of Arlington, TX; one brother-in-law, Chad Citizen and Margaret Mouton of Church Point; two Godchildren, Kinsley Meche and Haley Meche.
Mr. Meche was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents, Joseph and Genora Meche; one uncle, Jeffery Meche; his mother and father-in-law, Earline and Joseph Citizen.
