Obituary for John Cormier
Crowley- A Gathering of Remembrance with family and friends will be held for John Cormier, 72, on Saturday, January 4, 2020 from 8:00 AM until 12:00 PM in the Duhon Funeral Home-Crowley Chapel in Crowley, LA. Graveside services will follow the gathering and will be in Estherwood Cemetery in Estherwood, LA with Deacon Byrne Winn officiating the graveside service. Mr. Cormier passed away on Thursday, January 2, 2020 at Legacy Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Plaquemine, LA.
Mr. Cormier is a native of Crowely, LA and served in the U. S. Navy during the Vietnam War and was awarded the National Defense Medal as well as the Vietnam Service Metal with a Bronze Campaign Star. He is survived by his wife, Patricia A. Cormier of Crowley, LA; children, Josette Miller and husband, Mark of Plaquemine, LA, Jennifer Hebert and her husband, Todd of Church Point, LA and Jonathan Cormier of Crowley, LA; grandchildren, Emily Miller of Plaquemine, LA, Brandon Miller of Plaquemine, LA and Hannah Hebert of Church Point, LA; brothers, Terry Cormier of Crowley, LA and Michael Cormier of MS; as well as several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his former wife, Thelma Guilbeaux Cormier; parents, Forest A. Cormier and Mary Ann Louviere Cormier; as well as several aunts and uncles.
Mr. Cormier’s family would like to express special thanks to Legacy Nursing and Rehab Center and Comfort Care Hospice both of Plaquemine, LA for their special care of Mr. Cormier.
