Funeral Services will be held Saturday, February 15, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Rayne for Leroy Lemaire, 82, who passed away Tuesday, February 11, 2020 at 11:50 A.M. at his home in Duson.
Deacon Barry LeBlanc, from St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rayne will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Lemaire Cemetery in Cow Island.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Friday, February 14, 2020 at 10:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. A Rosary will be recited Friday at 5:30 in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include his wife, Flaudry “Flo” Lemaire; four daughters, Lisa and husband, Bobby Cormier of Rayne, Sandra Lemaire of Duson, Marlene Lemaire of Cow Island, and Charlene Lemaire of Maurice; one sons, Mitchell Lemaire of Lake Charles; two brothers, Ewell Lemaire of Cecilia, and James Roland and wife, Virgie Lemaire of Nunez; sixteen grandchildren, Christopher, Kelly, Scotty, John, Crystal, Justin, Ashley, Cody, Cory, Josh, Mitchell, II, Jordan, Dillon, Hunter, Mitchell, III, and Megan; several great-grandchildren.
Mr. Lemaire was preceded in death by one son, Todd Lemaire; his parents, Mayo and Yvanne Lemaire; two sisters, Jeanne and Hazel Lemaire; two brothers, Dallas and Daniel Lemaire.
Mr. Lemaire was born and raised in Kaplan. He was a Kaplan High School Graduate. He was a bricklayer and farmer for several years. He served our country in the United States Navy. He loved to laugh and joke.
