A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at a Private Time at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Janell C. Lavergne, “Granny Snowcones” 80, who passed away on Friday, July 24, 2020 at 8:40 P.M. at her home in Church Point surrounded by her family.
Père Rozas from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church Old Cemetery in Church Point.
Survivors include four daughters, Patti and husband, Jeffery Venable of Scott, Anita and husband, Tony Venable of Duson, Wanda and husband, Randy Mouton of Carencro, Joan and husband, Stephen Meche of Scott; four sons, Ricky Lavergne of Carencro, Phillip and wife, Lisa Lavergne of Church Point, Troy Lavergne and fiancée, Amalie Harmon of Lafayette, Shane and wife, Shella Lavergne of Church Point; one sister, Della Charles of Beaumont, TX; one brother, Nolan Cormier of Church Point; eighteen grandchildren, Michelle, Michael, Kadie, Chuck, Renee’, Dustin, Beau, Emma, Mollie, Holden, Connor, Jessica, Phillip, Jr., Samantha, Jaeda, Joshua, Brooke and Bailey; thirteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild.
Ms. Lavergne was preceded in death by her husband, Rufus Lavergne; two brothers, Andrew and Merlin Cormier; two sisters, Nettie Hebert and Judy Ardoin.
