Obituary for Debra Broussard (Penn)
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, August 11, 2020, at 1:00 P.M. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church in Crowley for Debra P. Broussard, 67, who passed away at her home surrounded by her family on Saturday, August 8, 2020 at 4:12 A.M.
Fr. Jason Vidrine, Pastor of Immaculate Heart of Mary Catholic Church will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in Hanks Cemetery in Morse.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday, August 10, 2020 at 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley. A Rosary will be recited on Monday at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Tuesday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include one daughter, Rachel and husband, Joshua Cart of Crowley; one sister, Margaret Sonnier of Crowley; two brothers, Mark Penn of Crowley and Robert and wife, Debra Penn of Sulphur; seven grandchildren, Taylor Broussard, Kristen Broussard, Kaylin Broussard, Andrew Cart, Abbey Cart, Ellie Cart and Caleb Cart.
Ms. Broussard was loved by all who knew her. She was always known to have a smile and could carry a conversation with anyone. Her job as a bank teller at First National Bank allowed her to interact and impact so many people through her 19 years working. Her biggest joy was spending time with her grandchildren, who she regarded as her world. She was an amazing wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
Ms. Broussard was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Broussard; one son, Robert “Robbie” Broussard II; her parents, Fred and Norris M. Penn; one nephew, Derek Sonnier.
