Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, September 26, 2020 at the Duhon funeral Home chapel of Rayne, LA for Eunice Mary Simon Leger, 89, who died at 11:40 a.m. Tuesday, September 22, 2020 in Lafayette, LA.
Rev. Burl Adams, Pastor of First Baptist Church of Church Point, LA will officiate the funeral services and the committal service at St. Theresa Cemetery in Duson, LA. Visitation may be observed on Saturday from 9:00 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. and the Rosary will be prayed at 11:00 a.m.
Mrs. Leger was born February 13, 1931 in Rayne, LA to the late Felix and Audrey Richard Simon. She loved visiting her friends and families and speaking with her Cajun French and shopping with her daughter and granddaughters.
She is survived by her daughter Barbara Broussard and her husband Lloyd of Lafayette; a son Larry Leger and his wife Betty of Scott, LA; 3 grandchildren Shire Broussard and her fiancé Michael Thibodeaux of Lafayette, Joey Broussard of Lafayette and Bryan Broussard of Lafayette; 2 great grandchildren Drew Guidry and her fiancé Jaden Deville of Lafayette and Ava Mercke of Lafayette.
She was preceded in death by her husband Lennis Leger; her parents; 8 brothers, Cloma, Cleveland, Sidney, Oville, Cleophas, Felician, Alcee and Willis Simon and two sisters, Solonge Simon Menard and Mary Simon Dronet.
