Obituary for Rita Elkins (Bellard)
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, September 29, 2020 at 3:30 P.M. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Rita B. Elkins, 95, who passed away on Friday, September 25, 2020 at 10:30 P.M. at Our Lady of Lourdes Hospital in Lafayette.
Fr. Cassian “Derrick” Elkins, her grandson, will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church New Cemetery in Church Point.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Monday, September 28, 2020 at 2:30 P.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Tuesday, at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include two sons, Robert and wife, Vicki Elkins of Richard, Patrick Elkins and companion, Dianna Royer of Crowley; five daughters, Gloria Broussard of Sunset, Germaine and husband, Mike Aguillard of Duson, Dolores Stroud of Church Point, Claire and John OIivier of Church Point, Dana and Wayne Dupuis of Lafayette; one son-in-law, Charles Pepitione of Church Point; twenty grandchildren, twenty eight great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.
Ms. Elkins was preceded in death by her husband, Wilson Elkins; one daughter, Joyce Pepitione and one great-grandson, Weston Nelams.
