Rufus Frank Hoffpauir came into this world June 27, 1926 and returned to his Heavenly home at the age of 94 on October 18, 2020 to be reunited with his loving wife, Lillia B. Hoffpauir; their oldest child, Mary; and a granddaughter, Sarah Ann. His parents, Rufus Clyde and Francis Pellissier, and his seven siblings will, also, be at Heaven’s gate to welcome him in.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, October 20, 2020 at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Crowley, LA. Visitation may be observed on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. Rev. Gerard Morgan, Associate Pastor of Northside Assembly of God, will conduct the service and the burial will follow in the Ebenezer Methodist Cemetery. Rufus’s cousin, Marlene Menard, will sing a few chosen hymns.
Survivors include his daughters, Gloria Taylor (David) from Summerdale AL, Sarah Martin (“Harry” Phil) of Crowley, LA; two sons John C. Hoffpauir (Barbara) of Lafayette, LA and Russell Hoffpauir (Debbie) of Crowley, LA; thirteen grandchildren, thirty four great grandchildren, and six great great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Martin, Jeremy Welch, William Welch, Jason Seaux, John Val Peralta, Butch Myers and Shawn Eckhart.
