Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, November 12, 2020 at the Duhon Funeral Home chapel for Angel Sanchez, 49, who died at 1:29 a.m. Friday, November 7, 2020 in Lafayette, LA.
Fr. Randy Joseph Courville, pastor of St. Nicholas Catholic Church in Lydia will celebrate the funeral and the burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. until 10:00 p.m. and Thursday from 8:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Wednesday.
El Tuca was born April 14, 1971 in Huetamo, Michocan, Mexico. He left Mexico at the age of 22 looking for a better future for him and his family. He arrived in Houston and started as a dishwasher at Don Bravo Mexican restaurant where he met Alfredo Cortez. They became best of friends and quickly decided to open their own restaurant. In 2001 they opened El Dorado Mexican restaurant in Crowley. His legacy still remains at El Dorado for his unique recipe’s.
He is survived by his wife Hogolina Serrano of Crowley; 1 daughter, Maritza Sanchez Saucedo of Mexico; 1 son, Jesus Rayo Serrano of Crowley; 3 sisters, Ana Pelayo of Houston, TX, Yolanda Sanchez of Houston and Irma Sanchez of Atlanta; 3 brothers, Virgilio Sanchez of Houston, Ramiro Sanchez of Houston and Artemio Sanchez of Houston; 1 nephew, Victor Sanchez of Austin and 2 nieces, Tania Pelayo of Houston and Griselda Hernandez of Atlanta.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Guadalupe Sanchez and Trinidad Perez; his daughter, Maria Rayo Serrano and a brother, Jose Sanchez.
