Obituary for LeRoy Joseph Guillory

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 3:00 P.M. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for LeRoy J. Guillory, 89, who passed away on Sunday, November 15, 2020 at 8:52 P.M. at St. Joseph Carpenter House in Lafayette.
Fr. Patrick Broussard, Pastor of Our Lady of the Catholic Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart New Cemetery Mausoleum in Church Point.
The family of Mr. LeRoy J. Guillory has requested that all wear a mask while in attendance of his services.
The family has requested the visitation to be held on Thursday, November 19, 2020 at 9:30 A.M. until 2:30 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Thursday at 11:00 A.M. in the Funeral Home Chapel.
The family and friends of LeRoy J. Guillory are mourning the loss of their loved one, who was called from this life on Sunday. He was born in St. Landry, La. to Lillian Dardeau and John Guillory on August 5, 1931. He attended Ville Platte High School and was employed by the many telephone companies in the Church Point area.
He served his country honorable in the United States Navy during the Korean War. When he returned from the Navy, he returned to work for the telephone Co. until retirement in 1993.
He enjoyed having the family over for visits and always wanted the family to keep in touch. He was also known as top chef for his bar-b-que.
Survivors include his wife of sixty four years, Leona Venable Guillory of Church Point; three daughters, Deborah Guillory of Church Point, Darlene Guillory of The Woodlands, TX, Arlene and husband, Houston Frazier of Church Point; one son, Kirk J. Guillory of Austin, TX; four grandchildren, Summer Frazier of Denver, CO., Chase and wife, Mandy Frazier of Alexandria, Sean Guillory of Austin, and Ryan and wife, Kathryn Guillory of San Antoine; five great-grandchildren, Sydney, Ruby, Owen, Holden Guillory and Chaselynn Frazier; one sister, Carolyn and husband, Jamie White of Liberty, MS; two brothers, Kenneth and wife, Denise Hebert, Gene and wife, Nance Hebert; one brother-in-law, Michael Willingham, one sister-in-law, Bonnie Venable; five nephews, Jon and wife, Michelle White, Jared White, Lucas and wife, Jacqueline Hebert, Casey and wife, Rhonda Hebert, Matthew Hebert; two nieces, Amanda, and Rachelle Hebert; several great nieces and nephews.
Mr. LeRoy was preceded in death by his mother and step father, Lillian and Alton Hebert; his father, John Guillory; one brother, Nerell Guillory and sister, Linda Guillory Willingham.
Pallbearers for the service will be Houston Frazier, Chase Frazier, Kirk Guillory, Ryan Guillory, Kenneth Hebert, Lucas Hebert, and Jon White.
