A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:300 a.m. Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church for Mary Joyce Savoy, 89, who died at 3:32 a.m. Sunday, December 20. 2020 at her residence in Sunset, LA.
Fr. Patrick Broussard and Fr. Mark Ledeaux will concelebrate the Mass and the burial will follow at Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA. Visitation may be observed on Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at the Duhon Funeral Home in Church Point, LA and Tuesday from 8:00 a.m. until service time. The Rosary will be prayed at 7:00 p.m. Monday.
She is survived by her daughter Becky Andrus and her husband Mike of Broussard, LA; her 2 sons, Damon Savoy and his wife, Sereta of Broussard, LA and Kenneth Savoy of Morgan City, LA; 8 grandchildren, Cheri Gimenez, Lindsey Falgout, Blake Crofford, Mattie Savoy, Ethan Savoy, Megan Savoy, Madison Savoy and Ross Savoy and four great grandchildren, Parker, Olivia, Sofia and Isabella.
She was preceded in death by her biological parents, Leo and Electa Gay Daigle; her step parents, John and Mary Dohmann; her husband, Rufus Savoy; 2 sisters, Melba Richard, Celeste Franchebois and 3 brothers, Willington Beaugh, Alton Dohmann and Jerry Dohmann, Sr.
