A Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 1:00 P.M. at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point for Alyssa Jene Cormier, 27, who passed away on Sunday, December 27, 2020 at 1:00 A.M. at Acadia General Hospital in Crowley.
Père Roza from Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Church Point will be officiating for the services. Burial will be held in the Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church New Cemetery in Church Point.
The family has requested visitation to be held on Friday, January 1, 2021 at 11:00 A.M. until 10:00 P.M. in the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel in Church Point. A Rosary will be recited on Friday at 7 o’clock in the evening in the Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will resume on Saturday at 8:00 A.M. until time of services.
Survivors include her mother and step father, Nadine and husband, Kenneth Matte of Church Point; her father and step mom, Tommy Brent and wife, Tanya Cormier of Coushatta; five brothers, Joshua and wife, Katie Cormier of Egan, Tommy Bellard and Mona Venable of Church Point, Wesley Cormier of Coushatta, George and wife, Lettie Lagunas of Phoenix, AZ, Chris and wife, Kristy Lagunas of Phoenix, AZ; two sisters, Summer Matte and Joey Hernandez of Phoenix, AZ, Autumn Matte and Ronnie Chandler of Phoenix, AZ; her maternal grandmother, Mary Ann Sattler of Church Point; her paternal grandmother, Elise Terrell of Coushatta; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.
Alyssa was preceded in death by her one sister, Brittney Cormier;
maternal grandfather, Leland Jagneaux; her paternal grandfather, Tommy W. Cormier; her paternal step grandfather, Frank Hahn; one aunt, Angie Matte; one uncle, John Matte.
