Obituary for Hilton Joseph "Tee Rouge" Schexnayder
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 13, 2021 for Hilton “Tee Rouge” Joseph Schexnayder, 69, who died at 6:48 p.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in Opelousas, LA.
Tee Rouge was born January 26, 1952 in Lafayette, LA. He worked for years with Louisiana legendary greats including record producer J.D. Miller of Crowley, Mark Miller of Modern Music of Crowley, Wayne Toups and many other world-renowned artists. He was sound technician and equipment handler for Horace Trahan and the Ossum Express until he retired.
Visitation may be observed at the Duhon Funeral Home of Crowley, LA on Saturday from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. Deacon Byrne Winn will lead the Rosary at 1:00 p.m. Saturday. A private graveside service will follow at the Hanks Cemetery in Morse, LA.
He is survived by 2 sisters, Sharon Lejeune and her husband Kenny of Crowley, LA and Jennifer Cumbie and her husband Steve of Labelle, TX; a brother Charles Schexneider of Crowley, LA; one niece, Christina Matthews-Womack of Hawley, TX; 4 nephews, Tim Lejeune and Brandon Lejeune both of Crowley, Chad Nolan of Labelle, TX and Johnathan Nolan of Labelle, TX and a special cousin Will and Rita Schexneider of Opelousas.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Milton and Verbie Lejeune Schexneider; Paternal Grandparents, Charles and Alina Duhon Schexneider and his maternal grandparents Emile and Celina Mary Lebert Lejeune.
The family would like to express their sincere appreciation for the care of Tee Rouge from UMC Hospital of Lafayette and New Orleans. Also Thanks to LA Hospice and Palliative Care for their amazing care, compassion and comfort they gave Hilton in his short time at home. They guided and assisted us to do the best for Hilton through his journey home. His angels on earth, we thank Paula, Belinda, Christy, Donnie, Amy, Linda, Stephanie and Chaplain Dr. Murphy for singing “Amazing Grace” at his bedside. Thanks for Pastor Bud for being with us also.
