Obituary for Joseph Delias "JD" Mesh
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 22, 2021 at the Saint Margaret’s Catholic Church of Estherwood, LA for Joseph D. Mesh, 95, who died at 4:04 p.m. Wednesday, February 17, 2021 at his residence in Egan, LA.
Fr. Randy Morrow, Pastor of Saint Margaret’s Catholic Church will celebrate the Mass and the burial will follow in the Estherwood Cemetery. Visitation may be observed on Monday, February 22, 2021 from 9:00 a.m. until service time and the Rosary will be prayed at 1:00 p.m.
J.D. was born October 17, 1925 in Egan, LA to the late Joe and Eva Istre Mesh. He was a veteran of the United States Army and proudly served his country during WWII. He worked most of his life for Conoco at their refinery in Egan.
He is survived by 1 daughter, Ruth M. Holy and her husband Charles of Iota; 2 sons, Adam Meche and his wife Linda of Franklin, LA and Mark Meche and his wife Lois of Egan, LA; 11 grandchildren, Joey Russell, David Russell, Leslie Dietz, Dennis Holy, Dana Holy, Mark Meche, JR, Stacey Verdin, Adam Meche, Jr., Jacob Meche, Jeremy Meche and Jennifer Meche; 22 great grandchildren and 15 great-great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Margaret Quibodeaux Mesh; 2 sisters, Jane Marceaux and Bie Lejeune; 6 brothers, Sam, Wilson, Leroy, Joe, John, and Cornelius Meche and 1 grandson, Jason Holy.
