Obituary for Horace Young
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Sunday, March 14, 2021 at the Duhon Funeral Home chapel of Rayne, LA for Horace Young, 76, who died at 5:35 a.m. Thursday, March 11, 2021 in Rayne, LA.
Deacon Dennis Lacroix of Saint Joseph Catholic Church will conduct the Funeral service and the Burial will follow in the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary Cemetery in Mire, LA. Visitation may be observed on Sunday from 9:00 a.m. until service time at the Duhon Funeral Home of Rayne, LA.
Mr. Young was born December 22, 1944 in Lafayette, LA to the late William Young and Lorena Nepveux. He was a Veteran of the United States Navy and proudly served his country during the Vietnam War aboard the USS Tripoli.
He is survived by his daughter Rachel Daigle and her husband Jason of Church Point, LA; his son, Aaron Young and his wife, Jenny of Donaldsonville, LA; a brother, Mark Taylor of New Orleans, LA and five grandchildren, Alex Troxclair, John Daigle, Elizabeth Daigle, Lillie Young and Ayden Young.
He was preceded in death by his parents and three sisters, Ruby Nepveux, Mary Alice Barker and Ruth Bower.
Pallbearers will be Aaron Young, Jason Daigle, John Daigle, Alex Troxclair, Thomas Bower and Mike Manuel.
