Obituary for Bernard Burton Andrepont

Bernard Burton Andrepont, 83, of Richard, LA, passed away quietly on April 23, 2021, at his home in Richard.

Visitation will be at Duhon Funeral Home in Church Point Sunday, April 25 from 9:30 A.M. to 10:00 P.M. and Monday, April 26 from 8:00 A.M. until the time of the services. A rosary will be recited Sunday evening at 6:30 P.M.

Funeral services will be held at St. Edward Catholic Church in Richard on Monday, April 26, 2021, at 10:00 A.m. with Rev. Wayne Duet, Pastor of St. Edward Catholic Church officiating. Burial will follow at St. Edward Catholic Church Cemetery, with Duhon Funeral Home in charge of arrangements.

Burton was born in Richard, Louisiana, to the late Joseph Bernard and Lorena Lebleu Andrepont in 1938. He attended school in Church Point. He married his wife of 63 years on October 18, 1958 in Hueva, Spain. He served for 22 years in the United States Air Force during the time of the Vietnam War and over the course of his career was stationed in Greenland, Spain, Labrador, Kansas, Arkansas, and Louisiana.

After his retirement from the military in 1978, Burton was employed as a Quality Control Inspector at Dresser Industries until 1992 and as a machinist at Begnaud Manufacturing from 1994 to 2016. However, among his greatest pleasures in “retirement” were hunting and fishing and working the land to raise watermelons, his hybrid cantaloupes, corn, and crawfish.

He is survived by his wife Dolores (Lola) Andrepont of Richard; his brother Joseph Berchman Andrepont; two sons, Antonio Andrepont of Richard and Michael Andrepont of Jennings; three daughters, Linda Simar of Rayne, Mary Faul of Richard, and Brenda Douet of Youngsville; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.

Burton is preceded in death by his father and mother; one brother, Burlick Andrepont; and three sisters, Gloria Fontenot, Madeline “Wiena” Terracina, and Margaret Simon.

Pallbearers for the service will be 6 of his grandsons Bryce Andrepont, Brandon Faul, Zachery Faul, Tanner Faul, Garrett Douet, and Ian Andrepont.
