Obituary for Alvin Dale Welch
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, May, 22, 2021 at the Duhon Funeral Home Chapel for Alvin Dale Welch, 62, who died at 3:40 p.m. Thursday, May 20, 2021 at his residence in Crowley, LA.
Bro. Fred Monceaux will conduct the funeral service and the burial will follow in the Woodlawn Cemetery. Visitation may be observed Saturday from 10:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.
Alvin was born October 2, 1958 in Lafayette, LA to the late L.C. “Bob” and Enolia Smith Welch. He worked for Jack Wade drilling for many years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, frogging, restoring old cars and doing woodwork. He loved spending time with his family and grandchildren and his dog, Molly.
He is survived by his wife of 44 years Cynthia Patin Welch of Crowley; 2 daughters Shantel Welch Istre of Crowley and Chasity Welch Greenman and her husband Sean of Iota; 2 sons Cody Welch and his companion Kristen Grainger and Cory Welch both of Crowley; 1 sister Clara Duhon of Crowley; 2 brothers Calvin Welch and Jamie Welch both of Crowley and 5 grandchildren Katelyn Welch, Brooklyn Welch, Kylie Welch, Mason Greenman and Nash Greenman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a granddaughter Lauren Elizabeth Taylor Welch; 4 brothers Allen Ray Welch, Lawrence “Jr.” Welch, Melvin Joseph Welch and Harry Lee Welch and 1 sister Linda Ann Welch.
